Alternate Tryout Requests
§ Players unable to attend regularly scheduled tryouts must submit a written request for an alternate tryout (available via the NS website) to the North Storm group no less than one month prior to scheduled tryouts.
§ Each North Storm team will have a maximum of 4 available alternate tryout requests allowed.
§ Any player applying for an alternate tryout will automatically be placed outside the top 10 tryout ranking (top 7 for U12).
§ Every attempt must be made to evaluate an alternate tryout candidate during game play whether league, school or scrimmage format.
§ A request that qualifies as urgent, unplanned or grievous may be submitted up to within 7 days of tryouts; however such requests shall only be honored for unplanned or unexpected VITAL conflicts. The committee should help approve such requests.
Medical Exceptions
§ Players currently in the North Storm program that are unable to attend tryouts due to injury may request a medical exemption from that age group North Storm coach. The following must be provided:
1) A completed medical exemption request form
2) Doctor’s verification
3) Evaluation of play prior to the injury
§ Players not currently in the North Storm program may apply for a medical exemption provided the previous materials are provided as well as two recommendations from coaches regarding the applicant’s abilities in soccer. Approval will be at the discretion of the age group North Storm coach.
§ Medical exemptions will automatically be placed out of the top 10 tryout ranking.
§ Medical exemptions for current North Storm players are at the final discretion of the coach because of the need to reserve a roster spot on the final roster.
§ No player can be dismissed from an existing roster because of a medical exemption.
